Sonic Tonic is a mostly summer band, due to the fact that our lead singer, Lisa Baglione, has a day job in Philadelphia during the academic year. We’ve been making music for several summers now, and quickly fall into a tight grove when we get together. Max Nunnemakerplays alto sax and bass. Max’s subtlety is so good it’s conspicuous. We do performances as a trio, but when the opportunity presents itself we are joined by my son Spencer on electric guitar, and one of several drummers who we like to play with. Our music encompasses rock and roll, jazz, and folk. The sampler here represents more of the jazz side, but when we throw in drums and guitar, Lisa pretty much catches on fire, and we can ignite some party excitement.
