I’ve been playing piano (and occasionally guitar) for New England contra dance music since the mid-seventies. Living in the Monadnock Region of southern New Hampshire is not a bad place to be for this: it has been my privilege to play with some of the greatest fiddlers in the country, and have I’m energized by a very vibrant dance scene. I’ve also enjoyed cultivating a modest repertoire of jazz standards which get brought out occasionally for swing dances, weddings, and parties.

It was my great honor to play with fiddler Kerry Elkin in the band Fresh Fish from the mid eighties to the mid nineties.

Current musical Co-Conspirators include Carey Bluhm, Amy Cann, Ethan Hazzard-Watkins,
Nat Hewitt, Tom Hodgson Mary Lea, Elvie Miller, Randy Miller, Rodney Miller, Anna Patton,
Jack Perron, David Surette, Harvey Tolman, Bill Thomas, Roger Treat, August Watters, and whoever shows up in Nelson on a Monday night.

Moving from one kind of keyboard to another: I’ve been involved with publishing since the early 1980’s. My work has included freelance writing, marketing and advertising, and circulation.

Current activities include:

Over the years I’ve done a lot of writing, some of which was published, and some just for personal gratification. A few items can be found from the Writing page of this site.
